We are pleased to invite you to an exclusive Cybersecurity Round Table & Dinner on Thursday, December 5, 2024, at Kasteel Fruithof in Boechout. NIS2 (Network and Information Security Directive 2) is a European directive that tightens cybersecurity requirements for vital sectors. This has made cyber security very important for the boardroom.

The importance of cybersecurity for the management of an organization can be summarized as follows.

• Board members will be personally responsible for compliance with cybersecurity measures.
• Organizations must invest more in cybersecurity to meet the new standards.
• There is now a reporting obligation for cyber incidents. These must be reported in a timely manner to avoid fines and reputational damage.
• Violations can lead to high fines.
• Cybersecurity is becoming a core part of business risk management and continuity and is now of strategic importance.
• The board must be proactively involved in the implementation and compliance of NIS2.

Bart Van Nynatten

As a proven leader in Information Technology, with over 25 years of experience in the field, Bart Van Nynatten has been helping companies grow their technological capabilities with keen insight and creative ideas. He is currently the CIO of Agoria (the largest federation within the Federation of Belgian Enterprises) and is responsible for assessing internal technological capabilities to make operations at AGORIA more streamlined and through technological innovation and transition.

Marc Vael
CISO at Veralto

Marc Vael is a cybersecurity expert and international keynote speaker. He inspires his audience with personal experiences. Marc studied applied economics at the University of Antwerp, information management at the University of Hasselt and applied economics & ICT at the University of Leuven. Marc worked in his professional career for large consulting organisations like IBM, Arthur Andersen, KPMG and Protiviti, but also for professional IT service organisation Smals.  Today Marc is CISO for a division of Veralto, a global leader in essential water and product quality solutions.

Karl Dobbelaere
Policy Advisor at CCB (Center for Cyber Security Belgium)

Karl is in charge of governance, risk & compliance programs related to NIS2 at the CCB. He has a background as program manager in automation, process optimisation, digital transformation & security.

Kasteel Fruithof, located in a green oasis in Boechout, just south of Antwerp, is a characterful castle from the sixteenth century. It is the ideal location for our round table meetings.
