In this round table we’ll discuss with a small group of IT executives the importance of data. To start the discussion Wim Nagels, CIO at DPD Belux, Kalman Tiboldi, CTO & Founder of GEM One and Bert Schoofs together with Damien Imschoot from Etex will share what their respective organisations have been able to do with data.
All companies have become data companies in the digital era. This is illustrated none the better than by DPD. For a parcel delivery company like DPD, it is crucial to always have access to the right data. Only then can they let customers know where their package is and when it will be delivered. Also at GEM One, Data is key to track and trace the fleet of their customers. Etex has started with a data lake on Azure and with data science a year ago. They learned a lot and still have a lot to do yet can already share lessons learned.
While a lot of data is available to all companies, the quality of that data very often leaves much to be desired. This is problematic because analysing low quality data may lead to meaningless results. Additionally a lot of data is collected by organisations yet not yet used. Exploiting this dark data might be the gold mine of the future.
You are welcome at our online round table on Thursday March 3 from 16:30 till 18:00 to exchange thoughts and experiences with improving data quality, processing tons of data every day and exploiting the value of data.
This event is part of a series of community events organised by Pointury for CIO's and other IT leaders in the Benelux. The goal of the round table meetings is to inspire and to network.
