The central theme of the event was navigating digital transformation without disrupting existing business processes.

Digital transformation encompasses more than just technological advancements; it involves creating smarter workflows, enhancing collaboration, and developing scalable processes—essential pillars for a future-proof organisation. However, initiating such changes without causing disruptions poses a significant challenge. Fluvius, a Belgian utility company, faced this exact predicament.

The evening featured presentations from key members of Fluvius's ICT team. Birger Steelandt, Team Lead of ICT Applications, commenced with a case study on the implementation of Jira, a service management application. He detailed the obstacles encountered during the transition and the strategies employed to overcome them, providing attendees with practical insights into managing similar transformations.

Following this, Patrick Le Roy, Head of ICT Applications at Fluvius, elaborated on the company's approach to facilitating transformations without causing disruptions. He emphasized the importance of building composable applications—modular systems that function independently. This architecture allows for easier upgrades and replacements, minimizing the impact on overall operations. Le Roy also advocated for developing roadmaps that adopt a step-by-step approach, ensuring that significant changes are agreed upon collaboratively with business stakeholders.

The event underscored the necessity of aligning digital transformation initiatives with business objectives while maintaining operational stability.

Pointury continues to play a pivotal role in connecting IT leaders in Belgium, organising events that facilitate the sharing of best practices and innovative strategies in the ever-evolving digital landscape.
